    Craving crab cakes but can’t justify the price tag?  Try out these salmon cakes!  All your salmony goodness in a delicious fried cake form~ – – This recipe is really quite delicious. The salmon cakes are moist and flavorful with a satisfying crust, but what really makes this recipe is the sauce! Plus, don’t you just love how colorful the meat is?  Until recently, I had avoided fish in a can. My mom made tunafish sandwiches growing up, which I didn’t dislike, but definitely wasn’t my first choice for lunch sandwich typically.  So when I saw canned salmon, I wasn’t…

    hello fresh: cod with wasabi aioli;

    February 1, 2017bestwithchocolate@gmail.com

    I was pleasantly surprised at this meal from Hello Fresh (click here if you’re interested in a discount!).  It’s name was “panko crusted cod”, which I don’t think does the recipe justice.  It’s more interesting than just slapping some panko on cod!  With a little wasabi-lime kick, it’s definitely something I’d consider making again! Here is my classic turkey burger recipe, with a little dijon thrown in for some flavor!  I classify this recipe as a “simple” one since I have most of the ingredients around the house, and the ones I usually need to shop for include: ground turkey, gruyere, and scallions!  Less than 5 ingredients, so I call simple. Just toss everything in a bowl, and make sure to mix together thoroughly, but only until just incorporated unless you want some tough burgers!  I’ll let you in on my secret for well-cooked burgers when you’re making them on the stove!  I like the…

    If you’ve clicked this link you’ve got good taste.  I’m just putting that up front!  This recipe was born from a grocery store sale!  I love those.  Browsing ads for some great deals helps me to narrow down what I might want to make.  If chicken’s on sale, then it’s chicken for dinner; if there’s a good price on salmon, then we’re having salmon for dinner!  And in this case … crab meat was on sale and I was craving some comfort food, so crab mac ‘n cheese it is! T and I are trying eat healthier now that the…
