These Mediterranean pinwheels are a perfect, EASY appetizer.  This is one of our go-to’s because T likes them, and I like them, and he’s less likely to eat half the cheese and salami before they go in the oven.  Though maybe more likely to eat half of them coming out of the oven.  Plus there’s the added benefit of a short grocery list.   There are only 6 ingredients (I’d really say 5…if you don’t have olive oil, you’re doing the kitchen wrong), and all the steps are simple.  It’s even better to get some help, especially if you’re making these for a party, because while it’s relatively clean, the crescent roll dough will get your hands a bit greasy, and it’s nice to not have to constantly wash your hands as you go back and forth making some other tasty apps.  While these are amazing fresh out of the oven warm, you also don’t have to worry about them being cold, because they’re just as good at room temperature!

I took them to a werewolf party last night (think Mafia or The Resistance, or any of those other talking based games where you have to figure out who the bad guy is), and they were a hit!  Definitely some good munchies, and as I keep saying: they’re simple to make while still looking schmancy!  They’re a good munchie for a party because they’re hearty enough to be filling, but not so filling that you don’t have room for other things.

The party last night was about 20 people, and I made doubled the recipe and that was a pretty reasonable amount.  People definitely had more than one but it lasted most of the night, while I still walked a way with an empty container to take home.  Actually that’s not true because my co-workers always manage to leave ONE of whatever I bring, but I did what I normally do and just forced the last one on someone.
