I hadn’t gotten around to typing this up from our last D&D night, but I think the timing is perfect–this is an awesome crockpot recipe for the holidays! I’m actually going to try these out with another jelly flavor as an appetizer for hosting Thanksgiving this year, so I’ll let you know how that goes. These crockpot jelly bbq meatballs are about the weirdest things I’ve ever seen, but they’re also one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. I’m not sure who would have ever thought–grape jelly + bbq sauce, yum! But boy, am I sure glad that someone did!
That’s really all there is to it, I’m not even joking. Crockpot + jelly + bbq sauce + meatballs. I think my aunt made these one year as an appetizer for Christmas, and after I had eaten half of them and asked her what was in it, I’m pretty sure I wrinkled my nose. But I promise you–these are worth it! It’s got this tangy, sweet BBQ thick sauce.
I made this for our last D&D session, along with my classic Caramelized Bacon Onion Dip, one of the first recipes I ever shared on this blog! We had a great time, and made a resolution–like we do most times–to have them more regularly! We’ll see if it comes to pass. We’re not always the best at following through with that plan. =P
So, to sum up: make this for your next party or get together! You can even try cocktail franks or use leftover sauce to top cocktail franks!014-crockpotjellybbqmeatballs
