Another of my Pinterest finds perfect for a party!  (Check out the original recipe from Real Housemoms, or follow me on pinterest!)  This is a great make ahead recipe, full of flavor and a little more hearty than some of the snackage that goes on for a party.  This was on the menu along with my pull apart bread (look for a post on wednesday) for my 25th birthday bash! I will definitely say this is on my “to-make-again” list. Fairly simple to make, and easy to make ahead and cover up before the party, then pop into the oven!…

Up front: this recipe has nothing to do with me!  It came completely and utterly from T, and I’m not actually sure if he pulled the idea off the intermanets, or came up with this tasty concoction on his own!  My role in making this was twofold: 1) make the garlic mayo, and 2) grate the cheese.  That’s it!  My boy doeeees know how to take care of me in the food department.  He even made a take on roasted caesar broccoli swapping out the caesar dressing for Italian dressing!  T’s parents would be impressed–thinking about vegetables all by himself!   And everything turned…

I am definitely becoming the queen of convenience!  Okay, not really, because this recipe isn’t exactly as simple as some of my five-ingredient recipes like bbq baby back ribs, but I’ve definitely been reaching for the recipes with a convenience factor (read: cream of potato soup, for this one).  Here’s the same plug from my last recipe, spicy cream tomato sauce pasta which uses jarred tomato sauce: convenience isn’t a bad thing.  In an ideal world, I’d love to make everything from scratch or nearly scratch (you probably won’t catch me boiling up some seafood to make seafood stock either way).  But I’m…

I hope that a lot of things on my blog look tasty.  But if you’re feeling ambitious, THIS IS THE RECIPE FOR YOU.  Note that with all the different components, it’s not really what I would consider an “easy” recipe.  It’s definitely less stressful if tackled with a kitchen partner, or having made some of the ingredients in advance.  A bunch of components can be made for other recipes earlier in the week, so this can be an awesome clean out the fridge recipe.  Make the juicy lucy burger earlier in the week and save up the bacon jam.  Make a tasty salami…

I will say, now that we have a dog, I feel guilty about using my crock pot.  Not enough to stop, since I know we feed Kenichi well, but it must be some form of humane torture to have the house smelling like chicken all day and not even have the consolation that you’ll get some later.  Poor pup.  (I don’t feel that bad for you, you little spoiled ball of cuteness.) But this recipe is a great make-ahead recipe.  Perfect to make a big batch of on the weekend, and slap together a few sandwiches the day before, or…

Pulled pork is one of those slow cooker recipes to keep in your back pocket.  I love me a good slow cooker recipe that has people (mostly T) raving about how awesome it is when I almost feel guilty for the praise because I barely touched it.  Seriously, the most amount of time I spent on this was shredding the meat.  I’m not even joking.  And most of it just fell off in chunks anyway! Some of the meat near the bone was a little tough, but I left it until after dinner and just picked off what I could after…

Here’s a perfect family-pleaser recipe!  I call it that because it’s a familiar and tasty option, spiced up with a little gourmet twist, but not with ridiculous ingredients.  Chicken tenders, done the normal way, except instead of breadcrumbs, crushed pretzels for extra crunch, and throw in some honey mustard in the eggwash.  That’s really all there is! I like this recipe because you get a little extra crunch for a touch of extra work.  I don’t know if anyone else has this problem but I hate “crushing” things.  Everyone makes it sound so easy–just crush the pretzels, like it’s that…

So I’m feeling under the weather right now, and after a crazy New Year’s Eve, I’m ready for some easy-peasy slow cooker recipes.  So I turned to this slowcooker french dip sandwich recipe from the magical slow cooker!  I adapted ever so slightly, using what I had on hand–lipton french onion soup mix. Now you’ll notice that even while I mention salt and pepper in the ingredient list, I don’t actually mention in the instructions to use salt.  This is just a personal preference.  I like how easy the french onion soup mix makes this recipe, but I do think it’s got…
